“Come O Holy Spirit and fill the hearts of the faithful!”
Our Lord Jesus Christ ascended into heaven and promised to send us a helper, an advocate, a comforter. He promised to send us His Spirit that will teach us all things and guide us along the path of peace, love, righteousness, faith and life. So we need to prepare for this divine invasion, for this divine encounter. The Novena to the Holy Spirit begins today.
I begin this novena with this beautiful prayer, “Come O Holy Spirit and fill the hearts of the faithful!”. This prayer is a plea, an invocation, a cry for the Spirit that lives in Jesus to live in me. I want to be like him, I want to live like him, I want to love like him, I want to pray like him, I want what happened to him to happen to me and I want him to be the goal of my life. I want to breathe the breath of Jesus that makes all life holy. So throughout today, the prayer, “Come O Holy Spirit and fill my heart,” will be on my lips and in my heart. I hope it will be in yours too.
We need the Spirit of Christ to blow over the surface of our chaos and to bring forth life and creation. We need the Spirit of Christ to navigate and blow through our valley of dry bones and restore all that are irreparably dead and broken in us. We need the Spirit of Christ to break through the closed doors and walls of fear in our lives and bring us joy and peace. When the Holy Spirit comes within us, the fruits of the resurrection become permanent residents in our lives.
My dear friends as we ask the Holy Spirit to come and fill our hearts, let us allow the Spirit of God to invade our chaos, to invade our valley of dry bones of hopeless, and to invade the closed doors and walls of fear in our lives. Expose your limitations, your brokenness, your fears, your hopelessness and your hurts to the Lord and He will do amazing things with them. May the Spirit of God free our hearts to experience the fruits of the resurrection. May God bless you all.
Amen, bless u more
Come Holy Spirit and fill my heart!
Amen alleluia .
